Jay Pollak – Managing Partner / EP

Jay Pollak was born and raised in New York, New York.  Following his time at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Pollak followed his passion for media and technology as a consultant, marketing and M&A advisor for Think New Ideas.  While at Think, Pollak was responsible for creating and launching the MLBPA’s first interactive platform.  Mr. Pollak was also credited with structuring & financing Think’s most profitable acquisition in BBG New Media.

Pollak then transitioned from Think by taking the helm at the private equity group Hyperion Media as the firm’s managing partner.  While at Hyperion, Mr. Pollak managed and collaborated on a number of significant entertainment and media properties; including actively participating as one of the founding investors in Legendary Pictures, which co-produced and financed a number of blockbuster films, including Batman Begins, Dark Knight, 300, Hangover and The Town.  Mr. Pollak, through Hyperion, was also the lead financier and a producer on Davis Guggenheim’s guitar film, It Might Get Loud, which was distributed by Sony Pictures.

In addition to Mr. Pollak’s experience in the technology and media space, he has produced a number of live events for brands such as Porsche, Van Cleef & Arpel, General Motors as well as entertainers like hip hop phenom Flo Rida.  Mr. Pollak was also awarded two ADDYs for both The Bluefin Ocean Club and TEN marketing campaigns.

In 2007, Mr. Pollak joined Bandito as a Managing Director and Executive Producer. In addition to executive producing Act of Valor, Pollak is responsible for securing and building Bandito’s east coast physical footprint, based in Miami, FL in a restored 1942 Naval hangar, where Bandito will continue to create, produce, manage and distribute audiovisual content throughout the world.
